All are warmly welcome to worship at Holy Trinity for the holidays! Holy Trinity celebrates Advent, the Christian season which precedes Christmas. Sundays in Advent include a children’s message at 10 a.m.

Worship schedule:

Dec. 3 First Sunday of Advent – worship at 8 a.m. (includes sacred music); and 10 a.m. (includes sacred music supported by the adult choir and features anthem by the children’s choir); Advent table wreath making project for all ages ($15 materials fee – register with Jennie Racek)

Dec. 10 Second Sunday of Advent – worship at 8 a.m. (includes sacred music) and 10 a.m. (includes sacred music supported by the adult choir)

Dec. 17 Third Sunday of Advent – worship at 8 a.m. (includes sacred music) and 10 a.m. (includes sacred music supported by the adult choir)

Dec. 24 Fourth Sunday of Advent – service of Advent lessons and carols at 10 a.m. (includes sacred music supported by the adult choir); followed by decorating of the church for Christmas

Dec. 25 Christmas Eve – worship at 4 p.m. and 10 p.m.

Dec. 31 First Sunday After Christmas – worship at 10 a.m.

Jan. 6 Epiphany pageant and potluck

The Angel Tree returns to Holy Trinity on the First Sunday of Advent, Dec. 3: The angel tree program benefits children in need identified through the South River Public Schools. Here’s how it works: Take home an angel from the tree, shop for a present for the child named on the angel, wrap and return the present by Sunday, Dec. 17.

Christmas caroling for all ages: Music Director Jessica Alcid is leading a caroling choir, combining people from the congregation and the wider community. 

Rehearsals are on Saturdays, Dec. 2, 9 & 16:

  • 9:30-10:15 a.m. breakfast in parish hall
  • 10:15-11:30 a.m. rehearsal in the church

Caroling in the community on Saturday, Dec. 23 (locations and times TBD).

You are warmly invited to a Gala Dinner celebrating the 50th anniversary of Holy Trinity on Leonardine Avenue (the third location for Holy Trinity over its long history). The Gala is Saturday, November 18 at 6 p.m. in the Parish Hall.

The Right Reverend William (Chip) Stokes, Bishop of New Jersey, and his wife Susan Stokes, will be our special guests.

“Where’s the beef?” It’s at Holy Trinity on Election Night! The Election Night Roast Beef Dinner is an annual South River tradition, sponsored by the Men of Holy Trinity.

Where: The Parish Hall of Holy Trinity.

All are invited to join us in welcoming Holy Trinity’s new members on Sunday, Oct. 22, after the 10 a.m. service. Newcomers will receive mailed invitations. Established members are encouraged to bring a dish/dessert to share as a part of this potluck brunch. In addition to food, we will be serving mimosas. Of course there will be plenty of blowing bubbles as well!

You are warmly invited to experience Burger Church, a program of Christian formation for all ages: prayer, discussion of a text from the Bible, and singing. We sit at tables outdoors (with the option of moving under the shelter of a covered breezeway or into the parish hall) and share a BBQ meal. Burger Church is offered every other Wednesday throughout the summer 6:00-7:30 p.m.May 31, June 14, 28, July 12, 26; August 9, 23. Taste and see whether Burger Church is something you would like to adapt for use in your church. “Food and faith without the fuss.”
