Dear Friends,
I am so pleased this year to talk about the theme of our annual stewardship campaign, Rooted in Abundance. I am particularly excited because it describes the graceful state of our church community, and how we share our gifts so lovingly with each other.
Our giving tradition at Holy Trinity has always been focused on how we share all of our gifts – not just our financial gifts. A church needs new ideas, creative people to lead, individuals who know how to solve complex problems, volunteers to run our ministries and focus us on each other and our neighbors. We usually talk about this in a three-fold way: wealth, works, and wisdom. If any one of these areas is missing from our community, we are diminished.
Each of us has a gift, some of us have many; for some it is cooking and baking, others might have beautiful singing voices. We praise those who have an administrative gift of balancing books or counting the collection, we admire those who offer hospitality at coffee hour, those who serve at the Altar, and those who welcome us as the service begins. Whatever your ministries are, we couldn’t be who we are without you.
Scientists have explored how trees are connected via their root structures, and how they share information and resources with each other through those underground networks. In this year of being in leadership ministry with you, I have witnessed the ways in which you communicate with each other to get things done; coffee hours, clean-ups, burger church, construction, Hooks & Needles, Altar and flower guild, Manna Cafe, South River community events, pastoral care, Calico Cat helpers. It all happens so wonderfully because you are each deeply connected to one other through your roots of faith and service.
I thank you for the ways you have shared your gifts with our parish family – your wealth, works, and your wisdom. Please review the information about this year’s campaign and accept the invitation to let us know what gifts you would like to share with us for next year’s ministry. Thank you for your generosity.

Me complace mucho este año hablar sobre el tema de nuestra campaña anual de administración, Radicalizado en abundancia. Estoy particularmente emocionado porque describe el elegante estado de nuestra comunidad eclesial y cómo compartimos nuestros dones con tanto amor unos con otros.
Nuestra tradición de donaciones en Holy Trinity siempre se ha centrado en cómo compartimos todos nuestros donativos, no solo nuestros donativos financieros. Una iglesia necesita nuevas ideas, personas creativas para liderar, personas que sepan cómo resolver problemas complejos, voluntarios para administrar nuestros ministerios y enfocarnos unos en otros y en nuestros vecinos. Generalmente hablamos de esto en tres sentidos: riqueza, obras y sabiduría. Si alguna de estas áreas falta en nuestra comunidad, estamos disminuidos.
Cada uno de nosotros tiene un don, algunos tenemos muchos; para algunos es cocinar y hornear, otros pueden tener hermosas voces para cantar. Alabamos a quienes tienen don administrativo para cuadrar libros o contar la colección, admiramos a quienes ofrecen hospitalidad a la hora del café, a quienes sirven en la Altar, y a quienes nos dan la bienvenida al inicio del servicio. Cualesquiera que sean sus ministerios, no podríamos ser quienes somos sin usted.

En este año de estar en el ministerio de liderazgo con ustedes, he sido testigo de las formas en que se comunican entre sí para hacer las cosas; horas de café, limpieza, iglesia de hamburguesas, construcción, Hooks & Needles, altar y flores, Manna Cafe, eventos comunitarios de South River, atención pastoral, ayudantes de Calico Cat. Todo sucede de manera maravillosa porque cada uno de ustedes está profundamente conectado entre sí a través de sus raíces de fe y servicio.
Le agradezco las formas en que ha compartido sus dones con nuestra familia parroquial: su riqueza, sus obras, y tu sabiduría.
