Your Invitation to a holy Lent
Our spiritual focus this year for Lent is on feeding, not fasting: on the many gracious ways we may feed our spiritual hunger and nourish Christian faith.
Ash Wednesday is February 17—prayer times:
- 9 a.m. Morning Prayer on Facebook
- 12 p.m. Liturgy of Penitence live-streamed from the church on Facebook (the church will be open for those who wish to attend but ashes will not be imposed).
- 4 p.m. Evening Prayer on Facebook
- 7 p.m. Home-centered liturgy on Zoom, with ash ritual and sacred music.
Ashes will be distributed in packets, which will be available to take home for a liturgy in your home at 7 p.m. on Zoom (use the Sunday Zoom link—see above).
On Ash Wednesday the church will be open for prayer and to pick up ashes and Lenten materials 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m. Please register HERE to reserve your materials or to request delivery to your home. Note that all Covid-19 Safety protocols will be observed, including masking and social distancing.
Lenten activity bags will also be available for pick up at the church or delivery to your door—please register to reserve a bag:
- Families with young children—including your grandchildren and godchildren
- Adults
Also available are two Lenten books—please contact the church office to reserve a copy or to have one delivered to your door:
- The Sermon on the Mount, by Amy-Jill Levine
- The Art of Lent: A Painting a Day From Ash Wednesday to Easter, by Sister Wendy Beckett
Wednesdays in Lent, 6:30-7:30 p.m. learn about the Kingdom of Heaven: We’ll follow Jesus’ inspired teaching and challenging instruction into the kingdom he came to establish. This discussion series is based on Amy-Jill Levine’s The Sermon on the Mount (see above) starts on Feb. 24 on Zoom (use the Sunday Zoom link).
Look for special events on the Sundays in Lent, including
- Stations of the Cross
- Adult Prayer in Color
- Movie watch party
- Supper party livestream
Sundays in Lent our worship at 10 a.m. will follow the order for the Holy Eucharist (minus the Holy Communion)—use the Sunday Zoom link.
Spiritual counseling and the rite of Reconciliation are available by appointment with Father Greg or Deacon Brigitte.
