We Need YOU!
God desires our friendship, and so God graces us with faith that we might become friends with God. Jesus called his disciples “friends” (John 15:15). Jesus tells his friends that God desires to give us the kingdom (Luke 12:32). By participating in the kingdom of God we help to bring about the kingdom. Our service to the kingdom is the fulfillment to the prayer Jesus taught his disciples, “Thy kingdom come.” Through our service our lives and our neighbors’ lives are changed.
Holy Trinity invites you to friendship with God and service to the kingdom of God. We encourage everyone to “Do One Thing.” If you are not currently active in a ministry, we encourage you to Do One Thing every month.
There are so many ways to serve: you can sing in the choir, arrange flowers, set up for worship as a member of the altar guild, or help clean up and beautify the grounds. You can volunteer for one of the Sunday morning ministries, including usher, acolyte (open to people of all ages), choir member (no experience necessary), coffee hour host. Some activities are on Sunday, others are on weekdays. Many are done as part of a team, and others may be accomplish by working alone on your own schedule.
Every person has spiritual gifts to offer in God’s service (I Corinthians 12). God gives us talents and abilities which we may use in God’s service. Some have a talent for working hard, others for paying attention to fine details. Some are cheerful and encouraging, others are fearless at facing challenges. Some have musical talents, a knack for decorating, a head for numbers, or a love of people. There are many gifts, almost too many to list. What are your gifts? If you’re not sure and would like guidance, please contact Holy Trinity’s rector for help with discerning your gifts and identifying opportunities for serving that may be a good fit for you
