This fall Holy Trinity warmly invite you to “Following Jesus through the Psalms.”
- The Psalm Challenge: read a psalm a day—several methods are recommended:
-
- Follow the Daily Office Lectionary—begins on page 933 in the Book of Common Prayer (BCP). We are in Year Two (Sunday, Sept. 19, begins Proper 19 on page 985).
- Use the 30-day lectionary in the Psalter in the BCP (begins page 581): Locate the heading corresponding to the day of the month: there are morning and evening psalms for each day.
-
- Keep a Psalm Journal; request a free copy of the Psalms Scripture Journal, which provides a full copy of the psalms on one page, with the facing page left blank for your notes, thoughts, questions, prayers—a limited number of copies are available (or you may order yours directly)—2 versions are available (published by Crossway):
-
-
- ESV Scripture Journal: Psalms—a black notebook with lined pages
- ESV Illuminated Scripture Journal: Psalms—a blue notebook with an embossed cover and gold illuminations through with lightly dotted blank pages.
-
- Read Open and Unafraid: The Psalms as a Guide to Life—a limited number of copies are available (or you may order yours directly—and it’s also available as an audio book)
- Attend weekly small group discussions on Zoom: Wednesdays, 6:30-7:45 p.m. Topics: honesty, community, history, prayer, poetry, sadness, anger, joy, enemies, justice, death, life, nations and creation. To connect use the Sunday Worship Zoom link. Starts with an orientation session on Sept. 16.
- Hear Sunday sermons and special musical offerings on the Psalms.
