Calico Threads Grand Opening Featured on The Sentinel!

The grand opening of Calico Threads was featured on The Sentinel, a prominent New Jersey newspaper and news site.

New thrift store will serve storm victims, others in need.

A new thrift store will double as a ministry for Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in South River.

The Leonardine Avenue church will begin operating the Calico Threads thrift shop from the storefront at 54 Ferry St. on Sunday.

Church members Sandy Rahn and JoAnn Devlin have organized efforts for the store, which will distribute goods donated for superstorm Sandy victims. Those items, mainly clothing and accessories, are currently stored in a warehouse. Whether the store will carry larger items, such as donated furniture, remains to be determined.
